The Ward Cabin represents a typical late nineteenth century hand-constructed dwelling and lived in by many homesteaders and small ranchers in south-western Alberta.

This rustic one-room log cabin dates back to 1897. Two pioneer ranching families owned this cabin, the Faulkners and the Wards. The Faulkners lived in this cabin for two years from 1897-1899. The Wards, cousins of the Faulkners, then acquired the property in 1899.
